Sun Damage and Pigmentation

Have you found that over the years you have developed small patches of
darker skin on your face, neck, chest or back of your hands?  These sun
spots (or liver spots) are caused by sun damage and can be removed
using IPL.

How does IPL work?  Filtered light is absorbed by the pigment
(called melanin) in freckles, sun spots or liver spots.  The absorption of the
light creates heat in the pigmented areas, and the pigment breaks down.
The skin then renews itself over the next 10-14 days and the excess pigment
gradually reduces, leaving an area without excess pigmentation.
